To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Chichester’s iconic Festival Theatre, we are thrilled to announce that we have become a Gold level corporate production sponsor as part of the Theatre’s annual Festival Season.
Festival 2022 encompasses twelve productions from musicals to new plays, and a roster of special digital and community events to mark a momentous year for the Theatre and Chichester city, as well as other cultural organisations who are also celebrating significant anniversaries this year too.
We are also production sponsors for Stephen Beresford’s darkly comic new play, ‘The Southbury Child’ which is directed by Nicholas Hytner – a co production with The Bridge Theatre. Running between 13th – 25th June before it’s London opening, the cast is led by triple Olivier Award-winner Alex Jennings whose prior credits include Hansard at the National Theatre and Hamlet for the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Hancock & Partners isn’t just an estate and lettings agency. We truly care about our local community and love to support it across a variety of areas to include sports, schools, events and charities. Adding Chichester Festival to the list is a real honour for the company and so we couldn’t be more thrilled to support the Theatre in their 60thanniversary celebrations. Our Directors and Co-Founders have been a long supporter of the arts, visiting Chichester’s Grade II listed historic theatre building for over 20 years being at the heart of our community. Being a theatre built by the community for the community back in 1962 – an ethos which still stands today – it made sense for us to support their cause given our values are very much the same. It’s a really vibrant place to be, made even more so following its restoration in 2014 which has made it arguably one of the world’s best artistic facilities. We hope this will be the first of many partnerships we will enjoy at the Chichester Festival Theatre, and can’t wait for the celebrations to begin soon.
Director of Development at Chichester Festival Theatre, Joanna Walker, added: “We are delighted that local independent firm Hancock & Partners are sponsoring Festival 2022 in what is such an important year for the Theatre. Our 60th anniversary Festival promises to be our best yet, bringing audiences from far and wide to enjoy world class theatre in the city.”
The full Festival 2022 programme of events and performances is available on the Chichester Festival Theatre website, including a co-production with the National Theatre and the premiere of Chichester author Kate Mosse’s new play The Taxidermist’s Daughter.
